Electronic Reading Systems Stock / Inventory logging Software for CPT8000 Series Terminal

The ERS Stock and Inventory logging application for the CPT8000 series terminals provides a simple 'front end' scanning system for Stock Taking, Inventory Control or Asset Logging applications. A simple-to-use downloading utility allows the scanned data to be collected via a host PC and written to a text file for importation into other host packages, spreadsheets or databases.
 

The terminal may be configured for one of 4 basic modes of operation with a sequence of 1, 2 or 3 prompts according to the requirements of the application.

Mode 1:
Terminal cycles on a single prompt. Typically used for simple stocktaking in libraries scanning the item Codes / Accession Nos. on each item held in the library.

Mode 2:
Terminal issues an initial prompt (eg: typically a Location Code) and then cycles on a single prompt (typically an Item or Asset Code).  The operator may return to the initial prompt to log another Location at any time. This mode is typically used for Asset Logging applications where a Location Code is entered followed by the ID nos. of all assets found at that Location, or for Library Stock Taking applications where both the Item Codes and associated Library Storage Locations are required.

Modes 3/4:
Terminal issues an initial prompt (eg: typically a Location Code) and then cycles on two prompts (typically an Item Code followed by Quantity). The operator may return to the initial (Location) Prompt at any time. The Location Code may optionally be disabled for applications requiring entry of Product Code and Quantity only.  This mode is typically used for 'traditional' stock taking applications.
